When I brought it back, we held it up against the one I tried on. The skirt was 7 inches too big and the top was 4 inches too small. The swim bottoms were also not the right size. The girl wanted me to decide how much they should take off. I asked that they have the seamstress hold it up to the one I tried on and make them the same size. I am not a seamstress and I don’t know how to determine what should be done to fix it.
Bought a swim top and when I received it I noticed a cut in the seam. Tried contacting customer service and they still haven't resolved the issue. Looks like I'll just be eating the $40+ I paid for a swim top I won't ever be able to wear.
2.5 weeks later (after being told a few times that my suit would be ready the next day) I called to ask to talk to a manager. The woman who answered said one would call me back. It is now July and I do not have the suit I ordered in the beginning of May. I got a call back a few minutes later from the same woman who advised. My suit is in today and I can come get it. I went in and held it up next to the one I tried on, it is still not the same size. They had made me a new top and had the one I had worn on my vacation hanging up for sale as if it were new. I tried it on but it still did not quite fit but was a lot better than before. I asked for a manager again but now was told she was out of town and could not call me until next week. I walked out with the suit and called my Mother who is a seamstress to ask if she can just fix it. Summer is half over and I don’t want to wait for a few more weeks before I can even use the suit I bought. She agreed but said to ask for a piece of matching fabric. So I went back to ask. The young woman that was there instead told me they would just give me a refund. The refund was very kind but not exactly ideal. She wrote a check out but there was some confusion over the amount. I was trying to verify in my bank records how much I paid. I did not want them to refund an amount that was not due to me but I also wanted to make sure I got the full amount. The girl pulled extra cash out of the register and tossed it across the counter. She said ‘Take this and go’. I told her no, I do not feel right taking money that is not due to me but her attitude was just that she wanted me to get out of the store. I took the lower amount she offered and left because I was unable to verify exactly what I paid. They had no record of my order and the payment either.
If I could leave less than one star I would. They do not open the store on time. They do not have great store hours. Says they are open on Saturday from 10-6, we show up at 10:23 and they are closed. We ordered a swimsuit and it took two weeks for it to ship down the street. Only part of what they sell is in the store. We called and called but no answer. Looking back at my call log, I probably called about 25 times and left two messages. Honestly this store is poorly managed and horrible to work with. Please improve everything.
Super friendly staff. Amazing products. All color Spanky's for dancing, as well as truly extraordinary swimsuits made to order.
The staff is very unprofessional. I had a very poor experience with Billie Jo Clothing Company. I ordered a custom swimsuit in early May. I tried on a few sizes in the store and ordered a specific size and style in the fabric I wanted. The suit was delivered late. When I got it, it did not fit right at all but I was headed out of town. I was told to bring it back in when we got back and they would fix it.
This business offers an awesome service. It’s too bad the customer experience is so miserable. I probably would have bought several more swimsuits in the next few years. I also had friends and family waiting to see how mine turned out before ordering their own. Everyone was so thrilled at the idea of a custom suit. The girl who took my return made it pretty clear that she just wanted me out of the store and the future business was not a concern.
While it was kind they offered a refund, the attitude and communication throughout the whole experience was lacking. I understand that mistakes happen but it was clear when I took the suit back to be altered they were not happy. There was no communication about when the alterations were ready so I waited nearly two full weeks to allow them enough time. A completely new suit is supposed to be ready in 2 weeks so it makes sense that alterations would not take as long.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. I had nothing but trouble getting my order in a timely manner. If I hadn't continued to message and email them over and over, I am confident I would have never received my order or been refunded. I had to ship a piece back because they sent the incorrect size and they would not refund shipping (This ended up being the least of my problems out of them). I ordered a new swimsuit with my store credit, waited almost two weeks, contacted them twice, received several excuses, and still never received my order. It was a weeks long ordeal trying to get my $$ back. Unprofessional communication, less than impressive, leaves a lot to be desired in the customer service department. I kept one swimsuit from my original order. Both swimsuit tops had makeup stains on them when I received them. Yikes.
