I like to read the movie summaries and pretend I'm going through the motions of actually watching the movies. Standing in front of a redbox, alternately crying, laughing, and nervously biting my fingers in suspense also has helped me avoid people waiting impatiently behind me to make my selection.
Always good for an impromptu movie night and there's always something worth watching. Can't beat the prices either.
