I had to ask 4 different times to get simple things like an ID card, a login to write up notes, a uniform. Half of time my trainers would cancel my shift on me last minute because they were stuck at their day job (not a Provo job, some place else). I would ask questions to clarify different aspects of my training and would be asked to quiet down and just observe.

It also really frustrated me that the department is closed up on Fridays.

I posted an opinion after someone didn't like it they made it so no one can post on their Facebook page at all if. Their trying to improve their public image I think their doing a poor job and I mean provo police.

I know every department has to deal with politics and the whims of the mayor and the officers get blamed for having to follow that, but I know the Provo officers are doing what they do to help and have had no problems with them.

TL;DR: 1. I was an intern at Provo PD many years back and it was a frustrating utter waste of my time. 2. They're closed Fridays. 3. They're never proactive. Always reactive. Only ever interested in catching speeders, which doesn't help the community.

People complain about Provo PD doing nothing but give out tickets, but I have had nothing but positive experiences with them. I broke the law, as did everyone else complaining, but the officer didn't just fine me, he directed me to resources to bring my vehicle up to legal standards and answered all of my questions for almost an hour. I understand the law much better now, and perhaps it was just that one officer, but I've had conversation with other officers as well and I doubt it's just him.

Provo police are only interested in making money off traffic tickets. They are rude and disrespectful. Total joke of a police department.

I've actually never gotten a ticket from Provo. I was a volunteer in their volunteer police program (basically an internship to help you land a job as an officer), and the communication was piss poor. The training and curriculum was garbage, I got in trouble many times for doing things that were not discussed in the training. Several people quit, but I wanted it give it the benefit of the doubt.
