Overall I still think it's a pretty great recreation center, but their policies could use a revisit
Their is lots to do there no need to stand around. They have tons of free weights and other toys for your workout pleasure. Basketball, volleyball, and racquetball courts. Plus a full size training swimming pool.
Great family friendly recreation center. The pool is great for children and they have awesome family changing rooms.
Our toddler isn't quite big enough to go down the smallest slides by themselves, but it's totally forbidden for an adult to go down with them. It's clear the slides are designed for adults to ride down with them because it's allowed for special needs children in adult sized bodies.
Update: I'm removing a star because of the weird pool rules.
We were so thrilled to find this pool was open and drove almost an hour to get there. First off, I would like to say how amazing this place truly is as far as inside Rec pools go. We went for the inside pool and it truly exceeded our expectations. The lazy river is amazing and so are the slides. If it were not for the staff yelling at us the whole time we were there I would give this place 5 stars. The staff is very cold, I have a two and four year old and I had no idea that it was the law for children under three to wear three layers of protection even if they have been potty trained for well over half a year. Which to me is a great law but I just didn't know and didn't think twice with a kid that hasn't had an accident for over six months. It could have been explained better in a non demeaning way is all I'm saying. Then all the rules for the pool, like taking your 2 year old child down a slide just to get him used to it so he could go on his own. Or not playing with the fountains that are placed in the toddler area like a splash pad, how dare us try to play with the water. Or having the two year old stand by his daddy in the hot tub cause he didn't want to join his mommy and brother in the pool. Just standing by the hot tub even though he clearly was not getting in cause it was almost as tall as him and his daddy was there talking to him was a no no. Overall, amazing facility but the staff is unbearable.
Such an incredible value. The indoor water park is one of the best in the country and the indoor gym and classes offered allowed me to cancel my other gym membership. They have everything here!
We love the rec center, we go all the time. However on Monday we went as a family to the swimming pool, my 2 year old loves to swim. The water was SO cold. It was like swimming in a lake cold, and it's fall time. My son wasn't able to swim and he was too cold, he was upset about it. He wanted to show me that he could swim, but he was so cold he couldn't. Many other parents including myself took our children out of the pool after a small time because they weren't having fun and we were worried they would get sick from the cold water and the cold air. It was very upsetting. You could hear parents constantly talking and complaining about how cold it was. Because we love the rec center so much, I hope steps are taken to ensure that never happens again.
