The 5 am staff wasn't the most lively, but great facility!
I have enjoyed the ability to visit any VASA within the state as I travel often. Having access to multiple locations has made it easier to maintain my fitness program. Staff members at each location are always friendly and happy to answer any questions.
Decent enough for the low price, but only if you plan on staying a while. The gym is mostly clean, although it doesn't usually feel clean- it feels gross because everything looks kind of old and worn out. And there aren't usually any broken machines or weights laying around. The staff is decent, but I never experienced anything great.
When it comes time for you to cancel your account, things get bad. You'll pay a $50 cancellation fee if you cancel in the first 6 months. Regardless of when you cancel, you'll pay for rest of your current 6 months of membership (or however it is they calculate it), so don't expect to cancel for less than $100. That bit isn't so bad if you know it's coming, but it makes you feel like you fell for a scam.
You can tell VASA treats this location as the college kid gym. They rarely fix broken machines/improve equipment. If the price is low, they will still come they say. Which is true. Lower end gym is what you get when you pay $12 a month. Employees are great tho.
All machines were current and well maintained, and it wasn't too crowded, either. People there are generally friendly and willing to help you out. I wish it had a sauna like some other locations do. Lots of parking space and food very nearby, which is also great.
We enjoyed working out here, but would much rather work out somewhere else that is cleaner and friendlier.
I had both knee's replaced at the same time about 2 years ago. My trainer, Allison, in the Provo location has been absolutely awesome. She took me from a point of having a hard maintaining my balance, to being able to do 5-8 mile hikes with full backpacks. I would recommend her and VASA to any of my friends. She truly wants to see her clients succeed.
Awful Experience. Even though they had my precise debit card information with sufficient funds they sent me to COLLECTIONS !!! It might have been an honest mistake but I had to spend half a day (which is a great inconvenience because I had a very busy schedule with finals and work simultaneously) to solve the issue. It was an incredible NIGHTMARE. They weren't uncivil but they didn't seem very cooperative either. They finally realized their mistake, took my name out of collections but I got so scared that the situation would recur that I cancelled my subscription. Two stars because I enjoyed their equipment.
