My family of four used this center for six years, and it was fantastic. We saw nearly every provider there at some point, and they were helpful and professional and dedicated. Going to the health center saved us thousands of dollars over the years, especially the pharmacy.
My advise: make sure you get the name and number of whoever you work with (or their nurse) so you can contact them directly if you need to follow up on anything. In my case the doctor ordered an MRI to be scheduled., But when I called the front desk a few days later to find out when it was scheduled for, they had know idea how to find out or *even who to ask*.
The receptionist and nurse were kind, but my doctor and the person taking my x-rays in the urgent care center were extremely insensitive and rude. The old doctor did not even listen to my symptoms or complaints. He never even replied to my questions, he just sat there in silence. It was very obvious that he and the man taking my x-rays wanted to be done with work and go home. In fact, the man taking my x-rays said, "I need to do this quickly because I need to go home." I sat there thinking, "sorry to bother you with my pain sir." I have no desire to return.
Bottom line: while the staff was polite and I had a good experience, I would not return because I was overcharged and I have not made any progress towards better health.
The staff are often not very capable. If you have a question, you'll often have to personally hunt down the right person to ask because the receptionists don't know the answer, don't know to whom to refer you, and sometimes just give you a wrong answer rather than admitting they don't know, or going to the effort of finding out.
Pros: staff was polite. It was relatively easy to schedule an appointment over the phone. Doctor was respectful and a good listener.
It has now been nearly two months since my appointment. I called again today about my insurance not getting billed and it sounds like they might actually fix it this time. Still haven't heard about my blood work, nurses still haven't picked up any of my calls.
Update 11/07/2017
Cons: website is useless. They did not bill my insurance, and I called to ask them to bill my insurance. However, that phone call was about a week ago and they still have not billed my insurance. Furthermore, they did not communicate with me at all. I visited about a month ago about some digestive problems that were causing me some serious pain. I got blood work done the same day and was told to expect a call in about a week and a half. I heard nothing after 2-3 weeks and I gave them a call. I was directed to the nurse, who did not pick up. I left a message that she has not returned. It has been more than a week since I left that message. I will probably end up going to urgent care at revere health or something. In the end, not helpful at all.
The doctors and the healthcare they provide are good (i.e. the important stuff).
Everything is great except Amanda the rude receptionist that's pretty much the face of the pharmacy there. She is so short and rude every time I go in there to pick up my wife's prescriptions. One particular day I went in requesting a refill on a prescription and she was very blunt about telling me that I couldn't because the time period had not passed the point that I could request one. I asked her which one it was and tried to explain that she was referring to the wrong prescription, it was the same name but a different amount in mg. She wouldn't listen until she swung her computer around to show me that I was mistaken and I pointed it out to her on her screen. She didn't apologize or anything and just entered in the information selling me the prescription. I was so upset and feel like she totally mistreated me for no good reason at all. Every time I go in and need to refill the prescription she gives me the same attitude. She is very unpleasant to deal with and I am very disappointed in her, Amanda's, customer service.
