Good doctor and nurse here, but every time I came to the room, we wait for nurse pretty longer. I had to stay here every 3-8 hours each time I visit there but only one thing I like that nurse or doctor willing to print a work waive so I don’t have to write up at my work.
Wonderful nurses, doctors, and surgeons. I had to go into the ER for what ended up to be an emergency appendectomy. The doctor I saw was professional and truly listened to me. I could tell he wanted to help me and figure out what was wrong. The nurses were kind and attentive, making sure I was comfortable. When I found out I had to do the surgery, the doctor and surgeon explained the procedure clearly and made sure to answer my questions. Way to go Intermountain!
We won't be returning here for ER services. They do not care about the financial impact their decisions have on their patients--this is a large part of the problem with healthcare today. My wife went there late one evening. The next morning, I get a frantic call from her telling me that they are loading her on an ambulance to take her to LOGAN. This ride cost about $5000. Why? The services she needed weren't immediately available in Provo, though they would be later that day. Salt Lake was also completely booked. But they wanted to clear her out of the ER as quickly as possible. They didn't want to move her to a holding room for a few hours elsewhere in the hospital; they also couldn't wait about an hour for me to arrive to take her two hours away if that's what had been truly necessary.
I delivered my baby here and wouldn't mind delivering all my future children here. I had good luck with nurses for the most part and my doctor was exceptional. I can't give them a bad rating based on two nurses that really bothered me when the other staff was fabulous. The delivery room was comfortable and the food from the cafeteria was delicious. The mother and baby room was a bit small and even the nurses mentioned that when getting their equipment in there haha The construction was horrendous but they can't do anything about that. Overall I am satisfied with my care and comfort there.
Went to the emergency room with my three year old who was not happy he was there. They sent in a child life specialist named susan. She found out his interests and he just adored her. Great program!!! Awesome lady!!!
In short, their decisions are based on what makes the most money for them as quickly as possible. Admirable in a publicly-traded company in many cases, I suppose, but inappropriate when decisions like that bankrupt their customers (I'm not saying that did for us, but the pattern is certainly in place where it will easily happen to others). Go elsewhere.
