I feel like they have the spirit of Colonial Williamsburg at this museum: storytellers who transport you to a secondary world. The tour-guide played the part of printer; he enchanted my children ages 6, 8, 10, 12, and fifteen of my middle school boys yesterday. I'm going to have to bring the scouts to see this tour. The story of Gutenberg going bankrupt gives me chills every time.
The elderly men who direct the tours are so cute and just want to share all the information they can with you! They have a great collection.
My husband and I were walking down Center street one night and met Lou Crandall, owner of the museum. This incredible man and his little dog took us on a personal sneak-peak tour. We had the best time, and a week later, we still can't stop talking about it. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience, we will definitely be back for a full tour!
So glad we went! We learned a lot about printing and were very satisfied with the experience. The tour guides are knowledgeable and obviously care about the subject. We decided we're taking my family there soon. Worth the $5 and more!
This place is super cool! I didn't even know it existed until I did a commercial there. It blends right in with the neighborhood, but they have an actual gutenberg press there for demonstrations. It's huge.
