After waiting for 30 minutes for my safety inspection his wife told me it won't pass because my tires are to big and they hit the suspension which I know is false. Then she tried to make me buy a whole new set of tires. As if I didn't blow 1500 on the ones I put on, no one go here they are just trying to make a quick buck and confuse anyone who can't speak Spanish. The lady was very incredibly rude little kids running around the office yelling and a small dog chained behind the desk yapping the whole time and when I got into my truck they had taken off my dash cover and tried to put it back on but it was all messed up and wrinkled and skewed. I feel like he was looking around in the truck for money or something. Just felt dirty in the office I needed to shower after.
I've found Pablo to be capable and very helpful. He is willing, upon request, to search auto recyclers for parts instead of just always going for much more expensive new OEM parts. When I did my own mechanic work I'd very often frequent the recyclers with excellent success and I've found the same with Pablo doing the installations.
Later that day, after driving to the store, I noticed the speedometer wasn't working. I figured they'd knocked something loose while working on the car and I'd take it back the next day to have them check on that. Well, my wife took it back and they refused to admit it was something they might have done. Even worse, they wanted to charge more to fix it. Really? After explicitly explaining we would not pay for them to fix something they screwed up, she told them we'd be filing a complaint with the BBB and stormed out. We'll see what comes of that... In the meantime, she took it elsewhere, where the new (and AWESOME) mechanic confirmed they had knocked a cable loose and plugged it back in for us. IM Auto Repair is horrible. Don't go here for ANYTHING - you'll only regret it. I wish I could give negative stars on Google!
Both Pablo and MaryBelle have been very easy to work with even tho the language barrier (Spanish) can be troublesome.
These guys are as shady as they come. I went here yesterday because I had a random tube hanging down under my car. This shop was close by and I figured that was convenient, so I went in. After waiting for 20 minutes for the mechanic just to show up to work, he took a look and said he could fix it for $60 in about an hour. The price seemed fair enough for parts and 1 hour of labor, so I agreed. I came back an hour later and the car was just being finished. After waiting around awkwardly to be helped, I paid and left.
Perhaps the first guy's wife went in with a less than gentle approach.
Overall I rate them a very good mechanic shop and will continue doing business with them.
I've been going to Pablo to get my vehicles services for about 5 years now. Since MaryBelle (Pablo's wife) is a working mother their childcare is their place of business. I can admire that.
I went to this place for safety and emissions testing because it was close and because the last company we tried for S & E testing were not very good. These people were quick and made it easy to renew our registration. The only problem were the children of the lady who was running the front desk were rolling around on the ground and screaming. She would also yell at them to stop and be quiet. It wasn't a very nice atmosphere, but a good place to get car work done.
