Two is low - but it's a mixed review. Maybe it will get more stars later. But, here's why: my first appointment was made with the psychiatrist that worked there at that time. The day of my actual appointment I found out that it was with a different Dr because the previous one was no longer there. That Dr was good and seemed knowledgable. However, within weeks of that appointment, he leaves the country for a year, at least. This is not something that is conducive to this sort of "treatment" - especially when starting new meds and trying to figure out a therapy that can work. However, they have a separate treatment called transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) (google it!). After two weeks of it, I started to feel a difference - then my insurance denied it. IMO, I probably shouldn't have started it without that approval. It has been an emotional rollercoaster, to say the least. Then, I see their PA, and try a new med. That was a nightmare - she did not write the Rx in a way that was appropriate (it was supposed to be one Rx, but written so I was charged for 2). Normally not that big of a deal - BUT, since she doesn't really work there (she is only there certain days of the month) it was beyond difficult to get it corrected in a timely manner. She had specifically told me (in the appointment) that it would take her 2 minutes to correct (she suspected it would be a problem when she wrote it). When you have to go through the gate keepers to communicate with the PA, it's like playing that gossip game where, by the time it gets to the PA, it's not even what I said I need and the "2 minutes" to fix it turned into 4 days. My frustration level was sky high - especially when already struggling (why else would I be here in the first place?). They won't let you actually talk to her (too much to ask for). Bottom line, it is extremely difficult to accomplish what is needed and desired when the psychiatrists and PA's keep leaving and/or only work there super part time. It can be difficult to work out Rx's at a regular doctor's office, this one is a frustrating nightmare. When neither the psychiatrists nor the PA's are accessible, it is not effective for psychiatric treatment. If it were not for the chance that I might eventually get to continue the TMS, I would definitely search for a more functional office. I don't see this one improving any time soon - but I hope to be proven wrong.
Should be zero stars...
Do NOT go to this practice...I went to Natalie Thompson and she did not help me at all...she does not care about her patients and needs to be reported to the medical board for malpractice...some people become Psychiatrists to fix themselves and she's definitely one of them. And the front desk staff is terrible...they don't have a clue what they're doing. Don't waste your time with this place.
This is the best psychiatry office I have ever been to. As a lifelong client and full time behavioral health clinician, I have spent a lot of time with psychiatrists and the approach this office uses is leaps and bounds above most agencies. I would highly recommend this agency.
Front desk if very pleasant, and the doctor is great! Lives have been changed here.
